§ Accessibility statement

Accessibility of this website.

We sell Section 508 conformance, so this site should be able to withstand the same check we ask clients to let us run on theirs. Below is what has been tested, what has not, and how to tell us if something is wrong.

Conformance status

Partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the content meets the standard and some parts may not. We state it that way deliberately: full conformance is a claim that requires ongoing third-party assessment, and we have not commissioned one.

Section 508 requires WCAG 2.0 Level AA. We build to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, which exceeds it and matches the standard the DOJ Title II rule sets for state and local government.

What we test, and how

Standard
Built and reviewed against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Section 508 incorporates WCAG 2.0 Level AA, which 2.1 AA is a superset of, so this covers both.
Automated testing
Every page of this site is checked against the WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 A and AA rulesets on each build, at desktop and mobile widths. A failure blocks the build rather than being logged.
Manual testing
Keyboard-only navigation and screen reader passes on the pages that carry the site’s function, including the contact form.
Assessment approach
Self-evaluation. No third-party accessibility audit has been commissioned for this site, and none is claimed.

Known limitations

Named rather than gestured at. A limitations section that promises continuous improvement and lists nothing tells you the author has not looked.

  • Automated testing covers roughly a third of the WCAG success criteria. Passing it is a floor, not a conformance claim, and it is not a substitute for a VPAT.
  • No formal assistive-technology test matrix is published for this site. Testing has been with a keyboard and a screen reader rather than across a documented range of assistive technology, versions and platforms.
  • This statement covers this website. Software we build for a client is assessed separately, against the standard that client is subject to, and a VPAT is produced for it on request.
